Co-Design Workshop: A Seat at the Table – Thursday 22 October

Dubai Design Week 2026 invites People of Determination (PoD) artists to co-design "A Seat at the Table", an installation exploring belonging and togetherness, together with Canadian University Dubai (CUD) students. Held in the Fabrication Lab at CUD, this workshop is part of a collaboration between Dubai Holding Entertainment (DHE), CUD and ImInclusive. Participants will create individual tactile artworks that come together as an evolving mosaic table, inspired by six atmospheres of the UAE: Desert at Dawn, The Majlis, The Souk, Creek and Sea, Oasis and Palms, and Night Lights. Each artwork keeps the identity of its maker while contributing to a larger shared composition. You will work with materials such as sculpted clay and raised reliefs, woven fibres, wood and textured surfaces, and embossed patterns, with creative freedom to interpret your chosen atmosphere. The installation will be presented at Dubai Design Week 2026 (3–8 November 2026). Makers will be recognised as authors, and names, stories and images are shared only with informed consent. Session: Thursday, 22 October 2026, 09:00 AM – 1:00 PM (GST).

Open to People of Determination (PoD) artists. All materials are provided. Please let us know your accessibility requirements in advance so we can support your participation. Names, images and recordings are only shared with your informed consent.
